Register for Tuesday’s Member Luncheon on Salem’s Proposed Payroll Tax
Join us over the noon hour next Tuesday, October 24th for the monthly HBA member luncheon where we’ll delve into one of the most controversial and discussed topics in Salem today: the proposed payroll tax on next month’s ballot. While the HBA has opposed the payroll tax and contributed money towards the campaign to defeat the tax, Salem City Councilor Virginia Stapleton and Budget Committee member Paul Tigan will be at the luncheon to explain why they believe the payroll tax is needed and what it means for city services should it fail. This is a great opportunity to be informed, ask questions and engage in a constructive conversation. The luncheon takes place from 11:45am – 1:00pm at the Chemeketa Eola Events Center at 215 Doaks Ferry Rd NW in West Salem (just 3 minutes from downtown) and is $25 per person. Register online or by calling the HBA at 503-399-1500 to get signed up. We hope to see you there!
October’s luncheon is sponsored by Home Fire Stove.
