New Construction Contractors Board (CCB) rules effective July 1st require home builders to provide both a written warranty and a written maintenance schedule to purchasers.  As referenced in the July/August edition of the HBA's Chalkline newsletter, below are files you can download to help comply with the new requirements.

Learn More About the New First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

The housing stimulus package, passed by Congress and signed by President Bush on July 30th, provides an enormous boost to the housing industry in the form of a tax credit for first-time home buyers, as well as much-needed measures that will improve mortgage liquidity, foster refinancing of troubled loans and expand the supply of affordable rental housing.  Included in the bill is a temporary first-time homebuyer $7,500 tax credit which will help stimulate home buying, reduce excess supply in housing markets and shore up home prices.

NAHB has launched resources to help you understand and promote consumer awareness of the credit, including:

• A new consumer Web site, www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com, that includes details and a set of comprehensive questions and answers about how the credit works and how consumers can take advantage of it. 
• Talking points
• A consumer handout that includes the credit in the "top reasons you shouldn't wait to buy a new home."
• A banner ad that you can use on your own web site.
